New Bern Battlefield Site

An eastern NC Civil War battlefield site which includes part of the Confederate defenses for the Battle of New Bern fought on March 14, 1862. Walking trail includes four different sets of earthworks from the Battle of New Bern.

North Carolina Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame

Interesting aviation museum which includes both military and civilian memorabilia. Museum has an impressive collection of military vehicles, weapons, equipment, uniforms and a flight simulator as well as a Piper J-3 "Flitfire" flown by Orville Wright.

North Carolina Maritime Museum on Roanoke Island

The museum exhibits small watercrafts which represent the maritime history. The display includes Spritsail skiffs, 1881 Creef Shad boat, and 1948 Davis Runabout.

North Carolina Military History Museum

Indoor and outdoor exhibits featuring artifacts and military vehicles representing all branches of service in previous wars.

North Carolina National Guard Museum

The NCNC Museum is dedicated to preserve and explain the service and traditions of the North Carolina National Guard. The museum is located in the State’s Joint Force Headquarters and has a mobile museum, “The History Machine.”

The museum started as a private collection of uniforms and military memories by two local businesspeople Bob Mault and Frank Albright. The museum's collection now includes over 5,000 military artifacts covering all of the armed services of the United States.
